This is how my days look like now:
Yes, my clingy baby sits on me while I'm on conference meeting.
On some days, my eldest would help me clean up especially when I have 4 meetings in a day.
However, You not only have to be a mom, wife and employee but also add the roles of teacher and cook. Teaching is one of the toughest role to play when there is a lot of homework and your kid is not old enough to study independently. Arab is the toughest subject for me because I have absolutely no idea how the textbook works. Homeschooling is tough! Can't believe i thought of teaching Zara Cambridge syllabus at home before this. Oh well, like i said, I can be ambitious.
At the same time, your 9-5 now no longer have a fixed schedule because you have to make up for all the times you need to step away to attend to your family. Regardless how my manager says that she understands my situation, I can't help but feel obligated. It is not right if I am not delivering what I'm supposed to.
This Covid-19 situation is not going to go away any time soon. Articles have been published on the possibilities of having permanent work from home arrangements and schools not being open in order to practice social distancing. I need to figure out a way of adjusting to the new normal. For all mommies out there who is facing the same situation and managing it well, I don't know how you do it. Honestly, I'm struggling...
